Great Sandy Desert

The western region of Australia’s Great Sandy Desert is in an area almost devoid of sand, but characterized by complex geology.

This image was acquired on February 24, 2001, by Landsat 7’s Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) sensor.
This is a false-color composite image made using shortwave infrared, infrared, and red wavelengths.
